7th December 1 pm Special Event on Zoom: Jenny Carmichael Bequest: Maria Shell

Maria Shell is an internationally recognised modern quilter. Even if and especially if you are not an art or modern quilter and prefer other quilt makers’ work, it is worth hearing about Maria’s journey. Maria is a very good presenter and teacher so we strongly encourage you to join us at 1 pm Saturday, 7 December using the link below. Her lecture is titled TRADITIONAL, ART, MODERN—NOTES FROM THE FIELD. There is no cost to attend and the lecture is funded from Jenny Carmichael’s generous gift to Bay Quilters.
Maria Shell started out as a traditional quilter, but soon found herself making abstract pieced art quilts that look surprisingly modern. Maria will share her personal journey in and about the traditional, art, and modern quilt movements. Can you be all three? Come to the lecture and find out.
