About Us

Bay Quilters was formed in October 2003 to encourage and support the art of patchwork and quilting.  Our members come from all over Bayside and beyond.  We meet on a monthly basis, to share not only our love of quilting, but also a variety of textile arts.  We enjoy many events, including excellent guest speakers, skill-sharing activities, challenges, workshops,  and an annual bus trip and retreat. We have different skill levels and experience.  Our interests cover all aspects of patchwork and quilting, ranging from traditional to art quilts and beyond.

Our Contemporary Group encourages us to learn new techniques and challenges us  to  work outside of the more traditional style of quilting. 

Over 4,000 quilts have been lovingly made and donated by our generous members, through our Quilts From The Heart programme.  These quilts have been distributed to our chosen charities and other recipients, providing much needed comfort and support to those less fortunate than ourselves.
